What’s New at Garner Therapy in November    2019

November …this is my favorite time of year. We at Garner Therapy are busy, busy…. This is the time of year that

our snowbirds return to our beautiful weather. Welcome back to everyone!!

We are already in the middle of mission projects for the holiday season. We are currently collecting small items for Operation Christmas Child to send to children around the world. We would love if you would like to join us in this effort. This project is an early project and will end the first week of November so that we can get the items to the drop off locations for shipping

Our BIG holiday project is for Metropolitan Ministries right here in the Tampa Bay area. We are hosting a food /toy drive. We will begin this project November 13th and complete it December 13th. We really hope that everyone will join us for reaching out to those in our own communities that do not have enough this holiday season.

We joyfully welcome Kim Harris to our team, she comes to us with a wealth of experience in a variety of settings. We are thrilled to have her join us.

Research:

For our patients that have a love for Yoga … here is another research article that shows how beneficial yoga can be… this time the focus of the article was on if yoga is helpful for resolution of chronic pelvic pain.

Effects of Yoga on Quality of Life and Pain in Women with Chronic Pelvic Pain: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Russell N, Daniels B, Smoot B, Allen Diane, Journal of Women’s Health Physical Therapy. 2019 July/September; Vol 43, Num 3: 144-154

The conclusion of the article found support for the use of yoga to improve pain and quality of life in women with chronic pelvic pain. There were 3 yoga positions that were shared across the studies. Viparita karani ( legs up the wall) , baddha konasana ( butterfly or bound angle) and savasana ( corpse pose)

This Thanksgiving remember ….. There is always something to be thankful for 😊

            Sincerely,
